How did you get into the PR industry?
One of my professors at school introduced me to public relations and during my senior year, I started my role as a public relations associate at Inside Edition, assisting the Director of Publicity. When I was a news-associate at New York One News and got a great insight into public relations from the news world perspective. I expanded my exposure to PR while in school when I worked in the Parks Department's press office with the NYC Parks Commissioner. I was awarded the Jeanette K. Watson fellowship and was assigned to South Africa, in Cape Town, where I held my role as Communications Manager for NBA Cares organization Hoops4hope. That experience allowed me to be introduced to South Africa's media industry, leading me to secure an account for 2018 Global Citizen's festival with South African actress Enhle Mbali, and her "Forever Young Ball" hosted by international supermodel Naomi Campbell. From that moment, I started Verified Consulting in 2018, serving as a "connector,” not only for public relations but also for branding, logo, and speech writing. My agency is focused on event communications, online platforms, and is open to collaborations with public relations professionals. I love to build brands and tell a story behind individual companies while also creating partnerships.

What is your favorite PR experience?
One of my client's families owned an airline in the Bahamas. I love to travel, but working with her was a great experience, and one I will never forget.  I traveled from New York City to Seattle to Los Angeles in 36 hours. That was amazing, and I was jet-lagged for almost a week!

What do you love about PR?
I love the ability to create a narrative of what it is that a company wants. We have the power to change that narrative and build confidence for a brand and its story.

How does PRSA-NY add value?
PRSA-NY is a community of like-minded professionals that I want to connect with and learn from. I have enjoyed the quality of the events that the organization puts together, the information that I receive from each event, and the quality of people who provide essential information. I especially love the events that have journalists present who I can learn from.
