PRSA-NY Honors Inspiring Young Talent at 15 Under 35 Awards Luncheon on July 21st

PRSA-NY has selected its inaugural recipients of the PRSA-NY 15 Under 35 Awards. Hailing from corporations, agencies and academia, the 2016 recipients epitomize the spirit of the award, which recognizes the most inspired and inspiring young talent in the New York metro area public relations industry.

Please join us for an elegent luncheon at Aurole on July 21st from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

The program will include recognition of the award recipients, distribution of awards and a guest speaker.

Keynote Speaker

  Jeff Merritt
Director of Innovation, City of New York 

Jeff S. Merritt is an expert in the design and implementation of innovative civic engagement and good government programs with more than 15 years of on-the-ground leadership in the US and abroad. He currently serves as Director of Innovation for the City of New York as part of the Mayor’s Office of Tech and Innovation.

In 2010, Jeff joined the office of New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio and in 2012 was named one of City & State’s “New York City Rising Stars: 40 Under 40” for his work there. He helped develop New York City’s Worst Landlord Watchlist, a first-of-its-kind tool to allow tenants to look up a current or potential landlord to see code violations in that landlord’s buildings, and led the Public Advocate’s open government and technology initiatives and national coalitions on issues of corporate political spending and gun divestment.

In 2014, Jeff helped establish the Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation.  As part of the Mayor’s Office, Jeff led a range of technology efforts including the launch of the .nyc top-level domain and announcement of LinkNYC, New York City’s plan to build the largest and fastest municipal Wi-Fi network in the world. As Director of Innovation, he focuses on new and emerging technologies and directs New York’s smart city efforts aimed at leveraging ubiquitous connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT) to build a more smart and equitable city. He will be sharing his thoughts on leadership and how to get there with award winners and attendees.
