Meet the Panelists
Angel Aristone is Executive Vice President of Communications for iHeartMedia. She oversees all aspects of media relations, public information, crisis communication, and event coordination on a local and national basis for iHeartMedia and its digital platform iHeartRadio. In addition, she oversees the communications for iHeartMedia subsidiaries. Prior to joining iHeartMedia, Aristone was the Director of Communications and National Social Media for Six Flags and served as the official company spokesperson for the Six Flags New Jersey properties. Ms. Aristone received her BA from Rowan University and her MA from Seton Hall University.
Cessie Cerrato, Vice President Public Relations at Palace Resorts, is a bilingual, highly motivated, results-driven, travel and tourism public relations guru, with a proven track record of success. In her over fifteen years of public relations experience, she has flawlessly carried out public relations campaigns which have included crisis communications, external communications, media relations, marketing and cross-promotion, journalism, event planning, and social media influencer strategies. Her knowledge and expertise lie within the lifestyle, luxury travel & tourism hospitality sector. She also has a wealth of expertise with crisis management within those segments and has consulted for top brands such as government authorities, tourism authorities, luxury travel resorts, luxury travel concierges, and top consumer brands.
Kristen (La Rosa) Joyce is Director, Global Communications, M∙A∙C Cosmetics, where she oversees the internal and corporate communications strategy for the global brand. In her role she helps drive risk and reputation management, corporate social responsibility initiatives, large scale product and campaign launches, industry awards and speaking engagements, and senior executive interview opportunities.
Before joining M∙A∙C in February 2019, Kristen served at Senior Account Supervisor at Edelman Public Relations, helping oversee earned strategies for various pieces of the Unilever consumer beauty portfolio, including Love Beauty and Planet and AXE. Kristen began her career in Public Relations at DKC Public Relations after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
Margarita Miranda-Abate, Head (Director), Communications & Patient Advocacy Group LACan, Novartis Oncologyhas significant strategic communications and marketing, having led global and North America business across a variety of brands throughout her career. She has a deep love of brand marketing and helping to make emotional connections with consumers to build genuine brand loyalty and love.
Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Margarita Miranda-Abate most recently oversaw the travel and tourism segment within MSL's consumer lifestyle group. Her main duties included serving as the Global Integration and Planning lead for the Mexico Tourism Board, spearheading a wide variety of communications needs and marketing programs for our neighbor to the south across marketing and creative, media, digital, public relations and social. The position spanned responsibilities that included global strategic brand building, integrated marketing and project management. Skilled in navigating international local market and cultural nuances, as well as government relations, issues and crisis management and public affairs, this role was a pinnacle of Margarita’s 20-year wide-ranging professional career in public relations that has crossed between the Hispanic and general marketplaces.
Today, Marg, as she is known, has transitioned to a new adventure in healthcare and pharma at Novartis and continues her passion to deliver solid strategic communications to build brand loyalty across Latin America, Mexico and Canada. A passionate advocate for staff development, leadership and career-pathing and has served as a mentor and leader for emerging leaders.
Kas Rigas, Head of Public Relations & Communications at Maserati North America. For over 20 years, Kas Rigas has been trusted communications adviser in the boardrooms of Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs in both Canada and the USA. She understands how to move brands forward via regional and global integrated marketing communications programs that are grounded in research. Her sector expertise spans luxury lifestyle brands in Automotive and Travel, plus CPG Food and Beverage.
Kas has held increasingly senior roles at top NYC agencies leading consumer groups, business development and client service. She currently leads PR & Communications for Maserati North America.
Meet the Moderator
Joanna Sanfilippo is PR Manager of North America for Huda Beauty. Founded by Huda Kattan, one of the world’s most followed beauty influencers, Huda Beauty has been recognized as one of the industry’s fastest growing beauty brands valued by Forbes at over $1.2 Billion. Formally based in Dubai, she led the Global PR function as Global PR Manager for the brand(s) where she helped the company launch over 25 new cosmetics products (some award-winning!) and 2 entirely new brands – KAYALI Fragrance and Wishful Skincare – under the Huda Beauty umbrella. Before joining Huda Beauty, Sanfilippo was at McCann New York as an Account Manager for the L’Oréal Paris account overseeing the cosmetics vertical of the business. During her time working on L’Oréal Paris she helped launch Lash Paradise Mascara, one of their most successful recent launches, amongst a variety of strong initiatives including a Spotify campaign in collaboration with Camilla Cabello. Sanfilippo comes to us with insights and experience within the beauty industry from both paid and earned media perspective yielding a diverse skill set.
