As many of you know, there is no substitution for establishing relationships in this business. It can present new opportunities and open doors, help establish your reputation and make or break a job interview. Networking is a vital part of a successful career and PRSA-NY can help provide you with this exact type of exposure.

PRSA-NY's NEW PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE

The New Professionals Committee is a great group of junior PR professionals to associate with. The committee arranges compelling events that are informative, educational and fun.

For information on how to volunteer with the committee, contact New Pros chair Heather DiRubba at prsanynewpros@gmail.com

Recent events include:

  •  The New Pros committee established the annual PRSA-NY Career Forum, where PR companies exhibit to find new talent for jobs and internships.

  •  Editors from American Media magazines, ranging from Star to Men's Fitness, spoke at a roundtable discussion giving attendees the inside scoop on how to get ink in their consumer publications.

  •  A bowling competition where over 70 junior PR professionals and NYC-based media teamed up to bowl, eat pizza and network the night away.

  • The New Pros went behind-the-scenes of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A panel of Macy's executives discussed the ins and outs of media outreach and event planning for one of the nation's largest department stores.
