Getting journalist’s attention is more challenging today than at any other time in history due to today’s media overload.  According to a recent survey, the majority of reporters receive about 100 business-related emails a day; more than one-third get about 200 emails a day; and high profile journalists get between 250 and 499 business-related emails per day.

Come hear how to break through the media clutter from our speaker, Peter Shankman. The New York Times has called him “a public relations all-star who knows everything about new media and then some.” He is often called the “founder and father” of Help A Reporter Out (HARO), which in under a year became the de-facto standard for thousands of journalists looking for sources on deadline. The service offers them more than 200,000 sources around the world looking to be quoted in the media.  HARO is currently the largest free source repository in the world, sending out over 1,500 queries from worldwide media each week.

Additionally, Peter is also the founder and CEO of The Geek Factory, Inc., a boutique Social Media, Marketing and PR Strategy firm located in New York City, with clients worldwide. He is also the author of the popular “Can We Do That?! Outrageous PR Stunts That Work—And Why Your Company Needs Them” as well as three others.

As a bestselling author, entrepreneur, and speaker, Peter is recognized worldwide for radically new ways of thinking about social media, PR and marketing. He is a frequent contributor on branding on several major TV networks such as CNN as well as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter at conferences and trade shows worldwide.

Peter’s clients have included American Express, Sprint, SAP, The US Department of Defense, Royal Bank of Canada, Snapple Beverage Group, Saudi Aramco, Foley Hoag LLP, NASA, Haworth, Sheraton, Walt Disney World, Abercrombie and Kent, The Ad Council, Discovery Networks, New Frontier Media, Napster, Juno, Dream Catcher Destinations Club, Harrah’s Hotels, and many, many others.
